Greg Komsky AIF®

Chief Executive Officer, Wealth Management

Greg is founder and CEO of Foundation Financial. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Risk Management Insurance from California State University Sacramento, has his Series 6, 63, and 65 licenses. Furthermore, he received the Accredited Investment Fiduciary Designation (AIF®). Greg prides himself on putting his clients’ needs ahead of his own. For nearly two decades, Greg has helped thousands of educators, business owners and individuals properly prepare for retirement. His diverse background and experience help him to better understand clients’ unique challenges and goals. Greg has called Northern California home since he moved to America as a 5 year old. When he is not spending time with family or traveling, you can surely find him on the golf course.

Misty Brown

Chief Operations Officer

As Chief Operations Officer at Foundation Financial, I provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the firm delivers a seamless, high-quality experience for both clients and advisors. With over a decade of experience in the retirement and insurance services industry, I bring deep expertise in operational infrastructure, advisor support, and scalable growth.

I began my career in 2016 in an administrative role, developing a strong understanding of the firm’s day-to-day operations. As my responsibilities expanded, I gained comprehensive experience in executive support, advisor onboarding and contracting, operational systems, and scheduling functions. This ground-up perspective allows me to build processes that are efficient, scalable, and advisor-centric.

Since joining Foundation Financial in 2021, I have played a key role in strengthening operational workflows, supporting firm growth, and aligning internal teams with the company’s long-term vision. I am passionate about building sustainable operations that empower advisors and elevate the client experience.

Tony Pavia

Mortgages and Financial Planning

Tony Pavia is the President and Founder of Teacher Consulting Group, a financial planning and investment firm in San Diego specializing in asset management and retirement planning for school employees. Tony graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance at San Diego State University, is a Registered Principal, and holds the series 6 and 63 investment licenses. He has appeared as a guest speaker on 760am KFMB and KGTV Channel 10 news on various financial topics and has lectured throughout the country at financial planning symposiums. Tony has enjoyed spending the last 29 years assisting his clients in maximizing their state pension, managing their investment portfolios and implementing sound financial and tax strategies to enhance retirement income. He currently resides in North San Diego.

Heather Baker

Senior Director of Client Services

Heather began working in the Financial Services Industry in August 2012. She started as an Administrative Assistant and quickly worked her way to becoming the Manager of the Business Processing team. Heather is multi-faceted, she has worked with over 50 agents at a time, handling agent support, new business, business processing and client satisfaction. That is where Greg and Heather crossed paths and quickly learned they make a great business team. In her current role at Foundation Financial, Heather oversees day to day Operations, processing client requests and transactions while also being Greg Komsky’s Executive Assistant.

Heather was born and raised in the Central Valley of CA. She has two daughters, she enjoys being outside, hiking, going to the beach, but most importantly loves to spend time with her family.

Gerardo Vergara is a seasoned financial professional with over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, specializing in comprehensive financial planning, investment management, and risk mitigation strategies for individuals and small business owners. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and Accredited Portfolio Management Advisor™ (APMA®), Gerardo brings a disciplined, fiduciary-focused approach to helping clients align their financial decisions with long-term goals.

Gerardo holds Series 7 and Series 66 securities registrations, along with Life and Health Insurance licenses, enabling him to deliver integrated solutions across investments, retirement planning, insurance planning, and business succession considerations. His work with small businesses includes cash flow optimization, retirement plan strategies, employee benefit considerations, and long-term wealth preservation planning.

Bilingual in English and Spanish, Gerardo is deeply committed to serving diverse communities and expanding access to financial education and planning. He maintains a long-standing relationship with the Hispanic Chamber of California, reflecting his dedication to supporting Hispanic entrepreneurs and business leaders throughout the state.
